Facilities
Car / Bus park, minibus shuttle service to Newgrange and Knowth, viewing areas. Centre fully accessible to visitors with disabilities - including toilet facilities. Tourist information point. Picnic area.

Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre interprets the Neolithic monuments of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth. The extensive exhibition includes a full scale replica of the chamber at Newgrange as well as a full model of one of the smaller tombs at Knowth.
All admission to Newgrange and Knowth is through the Visitor Centre, there is no direct access to these monuments. Visitors are brought from the Visitor Centre to the monuments by shuttle bus.
Location: 2 km west of Donore Village on the South side of the river Boyne.
Directions: For visitors who use Satellite Navigation Systems, please note that your destination is Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre.
Via the M1 Motorway:
There are roadworks currently being carried out by Meath County Council on the road between Drogheda and Donore. Diversions are in place. All visitors coming to Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre from the M1 or Drogheda to visit Newgrange or Knowth should follow signs indicating 'Donore diversion' .
From the South: Take the M1 north and take the second exit after the toll. This is signed for Donore and Brú na Bóinne. Go through the village of Donore and the Visitor Centre is 2km past the village on the right hand side.
From the North: Take the M1 heading south. Take the first exit after the Boyne Cable Bridge. This is signed for Donore and Brú na Bóinne. Go through the village of Donore and the Visitor Centre is 2km past the village on the right hand side.
From Navan: Take the N51 to Slane. In Slane, turn right towards Dublin on the N2. Take the second turn left. Follow signs for Brú na Bóinne (Newgrange).
From Drogheda: Take the Donore Road from the Bus Station which is located just off the N1 on the south side of the River Boyne. Travel 7km to the village of Donore, the visitor centre is 2km past the village on the right hand side.
From Dublin: Take the N2 north via Ashbourne towards Slane. Turn right about 2km south of Slane. Follow signs for Brú na Bóinne (Newgrange).
From Trim: Take the R161 to Navan. Follow directions from Navan to Slane. In Slane, turn right towards Dublin on the N2. Take the second turn left. Follow signs for Brú na Bóinne (Newgrange).
Bus Route(s): Bus Eireann operates a bus service between the Visitor Centre and Drogheda. This service runs in conjunction with the service to Drogheda from Dublin. Contact Bus Eireann, Travel Centre +353 1 8366111 or +353 41 983 5023.

Tickets for indivduals and small groups are sold on a first come first served basis and cannot be reserved in advance.

Please note that this is a very busy site and visitors may experience a delay during the summer months. If visiting Newgrange and Knowth, access is not guaranteed. Groups which have pre-booked are expected at Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre at the appointed time, not at the monuments.
It is advisable to arrive as early in the day as possible to avoid the disappointment of finding all the tours for that day sold out.
